Halloween is a time for fun and frights, but some scams can be downright spooky. Here are a few to keep an eye on:

The Joker

Scammers often lure victims with promises of easy money. They ask you to send a small amount to a digital address via a money transfer app, promising that your money will double or triple. Unfortunately, the joke’s on you.

Night of the Living Dead

In this scam, fraudsters steal the identity of someone who has passed away. They might drain the deceased’s accounts, use their credit history, and even their Social Security number.

To protect a late loved one’s identity, make sure to lock their social media accounts, credit report, and Social Security number. Monitor their accounts until all assets have been legally distributed.

Trick or Treat

You find the perfect costume online, place your order, and eagerly await its arrival… only to realize you’ve been tricked.

Don’t get tricked! Always order from reputable sites that provide complete contact information. Be wary of offers that scream “Hot Deal! Act Now!” Shop with caution to ensure you only get treats, not tricks.
